The Wrangell Chamber of Commerce has announced the winner of the 2024 July 4th Logo Contest. This year's winner is Kyla McChargue of Talkeetna, Alaska. McChargue, the 15-year-old niece of Wrangell's Curty Kautz, was among several entries into this year's contest.
"This is the view I see of Wrangell when I come visit on the ferry," she said. "Wrangell is my favorite place to be on the 4th of July. I like the being in the parade with my family, watching fireworks with my Wrangell friends, the egg toss and watching my uncle compete (win) in the boat races. Wrangell is my home for the 4th of July, and where I belong."
For winning, McChargue won $500 in prize money. Vivian Faith Prescott donated $250, and Ed Caum donated $250.
McChargue will be recognized for her winning entry during this year's 4th of July activities.
